I'm a New C5 Owner!
I'm normally over on the C2 side of the forum. I have a 65 4spd Vert with a smallblock.
Well I got the bug for something newer after recently selling my 81 C3 which had a ZZ3, 3:55 rear and a worked auto trans. It was my hotrod.
I have been wanting a C5 for a while now and I finally pilled the trigger.
I found the 99 Vette just west of the windy city from a forum member.
I flew to Chicago and he and his girl were nice enough to pick me up at the airport. After checking the Vette out we made a deal and it became mine. I then drove it back to Long Island. The Vette was lowered about as far as it could go on the stock bolts and the trip back was more like the baja 1000 rather than a 860 mile trip back to NY!
Well the car made it in one piece but I'm not sure about myself, ha!
I have it a week so far and I changed out a faulty knock sensor which was throwing the check engine light and I raised the Vette back up almost to stock height with the help of a couple of good freinds and one of their lifts.
BTW, The previous owner told me about the knock sensor ahead of time.
The Vette is Black on black, Targa, 6 spd, Vararam, Borla, aftermarket shifter, 6K lights and it's a blast to drive!
This Vette is like an F18 Hornet and my 65 is like a Sopwith Camel Bi Plane! What a difference 34 years can make, huh?
Don't get me wrong, I love driving my 65 but it's apples and oranges.
I have already greatly benefitted from all the helpful people and posts on this sdie of the forum. It's where I got the info on the knock sensor change and the lowereing/raising suspension adjustments.
Here's a pick of the my new Vette and his older brother the 65...

Looking forward to becoming a part of the C5 side of the forum.
Thanks,
Carl
