Default Clutch fluid change

When I bought my 03 Z06 3 months ago, one of the first problems I encountered was the notorious stiff clutch pedal after after a hard acceleration run. Doing a search, I found that contaminated fluid was the most likely cause. With a lot of information from Ranger, I began to perform his clutch fluid protocol on my car. I have to admit I was very skeptical about this procedure working. I changed the master cyl. fluid daily for the first 2 weeks or so, and noticed an improvement in the fluid, but it still wouldn't stay clean for very long. I then decided to perform the change once a week. Well today I was about to do my weekly fluid change, and to my amazement, the fluid was perfectly clean.
So I just want the thank Ranger once again for providing the information I needed to cure my clutch pedal woes.

Yep!
You are smart to have done so. Alot of people on here have seen benefits of clean clutch fluid, me included.

Glad it's working out for you guys.

Much of the tranny damage sustained by C5Z flows from malfunctioning clutch hydraulics easily prevented by cleaning up the clutch fluid.

Takes some persistence. But the reward in driving pleasure is high.

Just did the flush and fill three times this morning, and the fluid was black like old burnt coffee. I think I caught it in time.
I wasn't having any trouble, just happen to read this thread. Going to drive it a couple days then do it again, it only takes 15 mins to do.

Wow!!! Let's just hope you actually di catch this in time. You will be reflushing many times more, with fluid that dirty. Evidently you don't go through the gears @ high RPM very often? Good luck and stay on it.

If your fluid is as dark as you described, you could go w/ the Prestone syn Dot 3 for the beginning fluhes. Once the fluid stays clear for a week or several days of driving, then reflush with the more expensive #4.

Drain the clutch cylinder fluid with a plastic syringe. Clean the inside of the cylinder with a paper towel, fill with new brake fluid of your choice and you're done.
