Emergency Brakes
Need a little help here. Yesterday I parked my car on a small incline and engaged the emergency brake and stepped out of the car. As i was walking away I noticed the car moving forward ever so slowly. Normally I put it in 1st before leave the car but I just wasn't thinking about it. So I jumped back in the car and put the car in 1st gear. Of course that stopped the moving but it also tells me I need to adjust my e-brake. Does anyone have information on how to do this?

I think the general rule here is to use 1st or Reverse ALONG WITH the E-brake. It is asking a lot of the small shoes to hold.
Why chance it, just leave it in gear.

Always use reverse, It is a lower gear and will hold better. Never trust the e-brake......

Visit this members website...
He has two fixes, on to adjust slack in the parking brake handle (pawl service), the second to adjust the tension on the pads ( pad adjustment).

No way I would leave the car out of gear, especially on a incline.

the parking brake in the C5's is notorious for being the suck...I always put it in gear
