My mistake (almost)
This afternoon I was out riding around on a vacation day. Nice cool weather, top down, sun out...perfect. I was feeling a bit froggy and almost wrote a check my butt couldn't cash. I was jockeying through traffic to catch up to a Mustang I saw ahead. I caught up but traffic was too heavy for any sprited driving. Just as well. I would have gotten a royal spanking. It was a Roush. I did some reading...it would have been embarrassing for me. Glad it didn't work out.

Meh... The Camaro SS has 426 hp and only reals 0-60 in 4.8... the 2002 Z06 is 3.9 seconds... The vette also takes the camaro by .3 in the 1/4.
That 427R is 0-60 in 4.7...
You gotta remember when looking at pony cars is they aren't designed 100% for performance.. they sit tall, have back seats and are usually heavy with skinnier tires. Corvettes are made to go fast and that's the bottom line... if he had any hp advantage the car and driver is more than enough to make up for the difference.
Edit: But then again Corvette owners aren't usually the types to go hunting through traffic to pick a fight... usually they are the victim of some ricer in a civic or some guy in is 92 5.0 trying to pick a fight.

Aerovette - Must be that kind of day...........I'm the slow driver, just take the Vette out on clear days, 99.9% of the time just doing the speed limit enjoying the ride. Until today -- Idiot in a Monte Carlo SS is doing 52 MPH in the passing lane right along side another car. I pull in behind him doing 55 MPH wanting to pass. He rides along side the other car for about a 1/4 mile not allowing me to pass. Then he speeds up and gets into the right lane and as I go to pass, he speeds up....60 MPH...65MPH....70 MPH....75MPH.....I contemplate just slowing down and tucking in behind him.....then this Corvette Devil whispers in my ear, "You got a Vette, dust this a$$hole".
Sooooo, I hammer the gas and look in my rear view mirror to see this Monte Carlo SS getting smaller and smaller....then I look at my HUD and realize I'm doing 115MPH. It seems like this car went from 75 to 115 in 2 seconds.....just amazing acceleration at high speeds.
But looking back it was just stupid of me.....CatCam, Just Stupid. I'm a very conservative 41 year old with a Master's degree acting like a 19 yer old.

It IS nice to have some passing power though!! We have a newer 2 lane that links the edges of two local areas,,posted 50 but often have some old blue hair old ladies that feel uncomfortable over 35-40!! 2nd or 3rd DOES come in handy when you get the chance to get around quickly!!
