In previous threads I have hit upon encounters with John Q. Public that result in the Corvette "Situation".
I would be very interested to hear your "Situation" stories. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that it happens to all Corvette pilots.
I had it happen about 2 hours ago as I was cruising across town in my
'03 C5 QuickSilver 50th.
I was actually directly in front of the mall on Bowling Green's miracle mile and a car load of 'cocky' teenagers in a brand new dual exhaust six banger Mustang got what they deserved. Of course with the other traffic I had to be very selective and safe about my "reprisal". I will explain all the details in a later post.
Let's hear what you got.

Reason: Forgot to do the Spell Check
Not the really true line'm up and wave them off with a crowd. But everyday 'payback' skirmishes where a "citizen" tries to get cute which is usually ridiculous and initially irritates. But then our reality sets in where we realize/remember what we are driving. Then we consider how we can smartly serve up a little payback a' la Corvette and all the while not getting 'busted'.
For example, as I mentioned in the earlier post I leisurely cruising the town and in front of the mall on the main road, I had been following a city cop from about 4 to 5 cars behind for a while.
Anyway, this carload of older male teenagers pulled up next to me and hollered something apparently pretty funny because they all were laughing out loud. Obviously the comment was targeted at my chariot.
I sized up the "opposition" and 'lo and behold it was a brand new six cylinder Mustang that even had dual exhaust!!!! Remember I had to consider the other traffic and the city cop.
Anyway, I came up with a plan. My top was off and my windows down. The bozos were in the right lane doing about 40 mph. I eased it back into 2nd gear and pulled along side them keeping the engine as quiet as possible.
Then I looked over and gave them the eat s**t and die look. As I continued to stare, the driver initially looked me in the eye and then he became intimidated/scared and submissively looked straight down.
At that moment, I hammered it as I said in 2nd gear doing about 40 mph. The chariot literally exploded forward about three car lengths with the Corsa's bellowing terrifically and then I jumped off the throttle and let it 'back down'. Remember the city cop??
Apparently the city cop was not watching at all. I eased by the cop and he never even looked at me. Wheeeeeew !!!!
The Mustang turned off at the next road. He was gone quick.
This scenario is what I would loosely define as the "Corvette Situation". An "asked-for" short and sweet dose of awesome power and acceleration which is unbelievably intimidating and impressive.
The fun is in the explanation with like-minded folks.

The only thing that surprises me in this story is that it happened in Bowling Green. I would think that the locals are accustomed by now to seeing Corvettes there.
Whatever - street racing stories are not allowed on this forum. You can call it whatever you want.
