Last Minute Mods, Pics + Tutorials
Almost time to put the Vette in hibernation, luckly I just recieved the remaining parts I needed to complete my Clear Front Corners so I spent the afternoon throwing stuff on the Vette.
First up was new rear Facia letters. I had the cheap vinyl decals and wanted raised ones but the ones I liked were anywhere from $60 to $80, a bit steep for just stickons! Cruising EBay, I found a set that looked great and at $30 I decided to gamble on em. I was pleasently surprised and I believe they are the exact some ones that go for $60 and up. GM licensed and came with instructions and an alcohol swab to boot;
I got Rear Clear Markers from Forum Member KCJeff... Thanx Jeff!! I've seen a few posts on questions about how to remove the side markers so I took some pics of the process. I think the pics are self explanitory;
Gear wrenches are your friend here!
Before installing the new ones, do yourself a favor and thread each nut unto the mounting shafts to precut the grooves;
Voila! I used a multi LED bulb;

Of course the Switchbacks would cause Hyperflash so I installed a LED friendly two lead Flasher unit into the Hazard Switch wiring. Very cheap, very simple and very effective... enough said!

Looks great! Great minds think alike. I have the exact rear lettering myself and think it looks great. I also got the custom clear corners that just got done getting blacked out. I will then be installing the hyperflash as well. Was the harness very tough to install?

I didn't use a pre made harness, I'm not a cheap bastich BUT I do enjoy doing a $8 DIY mod versus spending upwards of what.... $90 to $100????
I purchased a two wire LED flasher unit and cut the two appropriate wires in the Hazard harness, crimped some lugs on them and plugged em into the Flasher. It's electricaly identical to the expensive Hyperflash Harness and can be restored to stock configuration by crimping on male spade lugs on the other ends and connecting them back up... HTH
