Default Sun visor LED Bulbs?

I haven't heard of anyone replacing these. The stock ones are yellow.
And no please don't say it's because the LED will blind you lol, this is just for a show car.

Thanks

I have looked into doing this. The bulbs that are in there are not easily removable.

You almost have to tear apart the visor to do a proper job of installing LED's here. I may do this if I have the visors redone.

Damn!!! And here I thought I replaced all the bulbs... forgot about these!

I don't even know what bulbs are in there... but I'm sure we can come up with a solution!

If anyone has done it, it would be The Radioflyer. Might check with him.

Tim,

I forgot too, I was getting my interior projects cleaned up for you know what and saw the nasty yellow.

The information above is incorrect.

I did the mod today. By the time I got to the 2nd bulb on the first sun visor it was taking me 15 seconds to change them out.

They are P 37 bulbs. You take off the cover with a tiny flathead. Use a pick to take out the bulbs and pop on the new LED and cover.

All done

Try here;

http://autolumination.com/74.htm

Best bet is to remove one and match it up with the pics on that webpage.

That's odd, Gary is usually spot on! I wonder if there were some model year changes???

At any rate, which 37 did you end up using? I'm out in the sticks and have to order all my stuff and usually use autolumination.com for LED bulbs. If you have a minute peruse the link above and let me know which ones fit the best...

Thanx....

Tim

It could be different sun visors I think somethings are different about them I remember

Umm I looked on that fancy website. I'd say the first ones that are 2.50 look most like mine.
The problem is that I didnt order these, I had them extra from another car and they happened to work or Id just tell you where I ordered them from.

Mine probably dont work best as possible, they are just a general led that fit in there.
You dont want the light going straight out from the tip of the LED. You want it going out on the half that will put light out towards you. best to take one of yours out with a pick and make sure

Sorry I suck so bad Tim

Pull your bulbs, then compare em to the ones in here;

http://autolumination.com/74.htm

Maybe the fourth ones down titled;

"Introducing the Matrix II 5 led 5x brighter than than conventional single #74 leds

5x leds emit light in all directions Bulbs are 3/4" (22mm) x 1/4 (7mm)" diameter at widest point with T5mm base to fit standard #74 or #37 sockets."

I am researching LED bulbs for various points in my car.

I took the rear view mirror apart. There is a board inside there with 9 LED's mounted to a board, and a pig tail connecting the board to power. Passenger and drivers side each have one. The LED's are mounted 3x3 on the board. It was a PAIN to get back in there right too. I don't see anything like this on the LED sites. I think you would have to replace/solder the actual LED's on the board if you wanted to change this. There are 6x Amber LED's, and 3x White LEDs on each side (drivers/pass).

You have to remove the LEDs from the board and replace them with the color LED you want. See the big 'New LED mod' thread for further information.
