No, never considered it. If they would have built a Trans Am say around 550hp then maybe.

I have not, for the following reasons, in no particular order:
1) I do not care for the rear end of the Camaro
2) I do not care for the dash of the Camaro
3) The C5 is a much better looking machine overall
4) The Camaro SS is not nearly as quick as my particular C5
5) My C5, and all accompanying mods, is completely paid for

I gave this car to myself, and paid cash for it, when I retired in 2000. This car has taken me all over the country and through a marriage (hey it was a good thing...getting out of it I mean. My prenup saved the C5.) To get rid of this car now would be like losing a good friend.

I've been thinking of trading in my dd 06 Pontiac GTP and my 99 C5
coupe for a Camaro SS with no money being exchanged but I doubt this deal could be made. I don't think the current timing is right, I still need a 4 door sedan and the dealers are still not discounting in my area. A new camaro could satisfy for a few years until I could pop for a used C6.

It's funny how there is discounts on $100K Corvettes but mark ups on Camaros.

I believe the 5th Gen's DO have IRS. i agree with Alex though, they do look kinda evil when the sit there. i like them really but agree they are far to expensive for a SS. if they do build a Z28 with the Cadillac CTS-V's LSA engine i will spend the $$$ and get it. 53x Supercharged HP baby ~Cole~

Red 2010 Camaro/SS, had the impressive 600HP badge, modded by "Hennessey," said he was putting 675RWHP, S/C...was beaten impressively by the Stang, I think he didn't know how to race the Camaro/SS:

Here's a link to a $207-thousand dollar+, Hennessey 2010 710HP Corvette ZR1

I was waiting years for the new Camaro and then when I saw it... ehh.. I've owned 4 Camaros but this new one didn't compare to the overall looks of the C5, imo. Guess which one I bought?
