Gene Culley! gmpartshouse.com. he has specials on key fobs almost every month. the early key fobs with the passive feature are MUCH more expensive, but the newer fobs without it are pretty cheap and will still work for your car. i spent the extra cash and got the one with passive jsut cuz i think its cool.
Anyone know where to pick one up real cheap? Also, does anyone know the GM part number? Thanks in advance.
GM Part number for 1999 is: 10253839
Got mine at the local GM dealer for $85 and they programmed it. Neither of the 2 that came with the car worked even after changing batteries and reprogramming.

The newer cheaper ones will NOT work with your car. The 2000 fob without passive will work with your car, but is not any cheaper. Choose whether you want passive or not (98/99 with, 2000 w/o) and call Gene Culley. Don't bother buying a used one, you'll end up with the same problem shortly.
Wow, talk about a great resource. I used the soldering technique discussed in how to repair your key fob and it worked. Now, I have two key fobs that work and only spent $5.00 bucks on batteries which I didn't even need. This forum is the greatest!. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience everyone!
