Default z06 antenna issue

Hey guys new here but ive had the 2001 z06 for a couple months now. It had a broken antenna when i got it so i replaced it with a stubby antenna with an amplifier. It cuts out and loses reception very often and I understand since its a stubby it wont be the best but it seems like this is more of an issue than that. anyone have any experience with that or have any advice? thanks guys Im a 20 year old kid so id rather come to you professionals than waste money at a dealership or shop

thanks
Nick

i bought the short one from southern vettes or whatever it is.. he's a vendor on here. really good service, i paid and got the thing in like 3 days. it's def not the best for reception but it's not bad at all for how little it is. I mostly listen to CD so it's not much of an issue. I mainly bought it to get rid of the tower that they give you stock

The metal stubbies are not good antennas... their just a hunk of aluminium.....your better off either cutting you stocker down (make sure its an even multiple of its orginal length) or going another route
