[Z06] x pipe?

x pipe?
Hey guys i have a stock 02 z06 and just picked up a vararam. I am wanting to get the car sounding a little louder and maybe pick up a few hp while doing so. I dont want to do headers etc right now maybe not until the summer, but i did want to maybe pick up an xpipe with hi flow cats. Do they sell these to use with the stock TI catback and stock manifolds? also can i expect any hp increase even if its 5hp from upgrading to the aftermarket xpipe? again this isnt totally for power its more for sound.

also from what ive seen i guess xpipes are seperate from the cats to begin with? im coming from a mustang which has the cats on the x/h pipe. It seems they are a seperate element from the manifolds and x/h pipes?

I have a Bassani X-pipe,and Random Tech High Flow cats,attached to the stock TI . The X-pipe and cats are separate units. I think youll be happy with the sound. Its not much louder than stock and it has a pretty aggressive growl.

Just decide which catback sound that you like and buy & install . Later, down the road, decide which header you want to go with, and buy the x pipe from the same manufacturer & install @ the same time. Good luck.
