I didn't like the usual fire extinguisher in front of the passenger seat design so this was made. When the red tag is pulled, a pin at the other end of the cable releases the spring loaded retaining strap allowing the extinguisher to be lifted off the holder. The two long aluminum connecting rods are covered with clear Tygon tubing and the black end mounts are Delrin so nothing will scratch the bottle. This design takes up almost no space and is easy to get to, just pull the tag and grab the bottle.

Nice little set-up.
Suggestion: Put a small piece of the "hook" portion of Velcro on that little yellow tag and stick it to the carpet. It'll keep the tag in one place and prevent the possibility of that small wire going who-knows-where in case of an accident and causing you to do the "let's-find-where-the-wire-went" while every second counts in a fire situation.

First time that I saw your Avatar....Copied it and showed it to the guys in the office....they loved it.
In another thread, I believe you mentioned that no holes were drilled for this set up. If that is correct, can you tell me how it is secured to the car?
It is a really cool and innovative set up, especially with regard to how the quick release works!!
A bent sheet of aluminum is the frame that everything is mounted to and that is bonded to the floor with Goop adhesive. Goop was used because it is strong and can be removed if needed, the sheet aluminum is under the floor carpet and extends rearward about 10" to provide a good mount. The bottom picture shows the upward part of the aluminum sheet frame that is painted black.
