hey does anyone transport medium to larger dogs in their c5. Do you put them in the hatch or on the front seat and what kind of harness do you use. Any help would be great, also what kind of seat covers would you use if you put them in the front.
I sometimes have my 140 pound Rottweiler in the back with me...he can't stand up, but he is comfortable lying down and has a great view out the back window...I only take him with me on really short drives, but he really enjoys it. I get him into the back by sliding back my front drivers seat (it's a tight squeeze, since I have Corbeau racing seats), but it's better than the back...there is no way I could lift him into the back Indy
I've taken my dad's rhodesian ridgeback to a park ~ 4 miles from his place a few times. She just squats on the passenger seat with her front paws on the floor board. She didn't seem to mind, but I wouldn't try that on a trip any longer than a few minutes.
Dogs?? Man I didn't get a Vette to go around picking up any dogs. Only good lookers and definately no overweight ones!!!! Blondes preferred but other colors accepted.
great responses from delusional people as usual, typical my cars for picking up girls and I WOULD NEVER LET AN AMIMAL IN MY VETTE. realistically anyone who uses a car to get girls couldnt get a chick with a hundred dollar bill hanging out of their zipper. im looking for a way to travel with my dog that wouldnt damage my car.
anyone have any real help

...OK seriously. If it was me, I would not want a larger dog in the rear hatch. I would be concerned about his comfort and whether the interior trim would get scratched, etc.
I would rather have him sit in the front seat. Perhaps lower the seat back as far as possible and then use a pet harness (which can be purchased at most pet stores). The one's I've seen look like racing harness for animals.
I would also lay down a towel, bedsheet, etc. over the seat and over the center console, etc.
I have never tried in the vette, but you can buy a harness that attaches to the seat belt. The dog would have to sit on the front sit. Any old blanket or seat cover will do.
yea the front seat with a belt harness and a seat cover is my first choice but i was wondering if the hatch was an option, is there any points that a harness could be attached to he wouldnt be lose, and by large i only mean like 50 pounds so more of a medium size. thanks
I had my Newfoundland in the front seat of my Coupe when he was younger but he is to big now. He just sat upright on the passenger seat, but then I never went far with him in the vette.
