I originally had check engine light on and car was throwing both low efficiency codes for left and right bank. I replaced both rear O2 sensors. Then started getting P0103 and P1111 for IAT sensor voltage high or intermittent. Replaced IAR sensor and pigtail. Now we are back to P0430 again.
So how can I deterimine if the Cat is really bad or not without the sniff test ? 2000 Vette Coupe 138K. Something I can do to blow out the cat possibly ? I checked for exhaust leaks, non are present.
You can get the car jacked up and with an infared thermometer get a reading before and after the convertor on the "good" side, and then compare it to the bad side. If the change in temperature is really dissimiliar between the right and left side, there's a problem.
OK thanks for the reply I'll give that a shot. Good idea. I just came back from a romping ride hoping to clear the cats if debris can be moved. Been wanting to upgrade the exhaust guess now I have good excuse. Original cats so maybe time anyway.
Right now just need to get past emmisions inspection.
