Default Clear bonded poly bra

I don't know about my description above but I'm considering having my '02 Z06 done b4 I get any chips at all. I've seen it done and usually is applied over the entire nose, headlight covers & hood just past the headlights. Also fronts of mirrors and back of rear wheels where you are likely to get road rash even from stock width tires/wheels. The shop I use highly recommends it and I had a similar installation on a new diesel pusher motor coach I used to own when I had $$s. Doesn't seem to detract much from the appearance and from 20' away is hard to detect that it's even there. I'd like to start driving my 9k mi. garage queen but shy away from freeways because of the crap that is bound to get thrown your way.

Anyone done this? Results?

I've got it on my 98 and I would do it again. I can tell you that it will save it from a lot road trash, but the alligators will still hurt.

I bought my 02 zo6 with it on, and it hardly noticeable and if you do notice it, it even compliments the looks of the car. It protects it from tiny little pebbles, dirt, and bugs, but the bigger rocks still chip right thru the invisible bra. I m just afraid if i have to take it off someday that there will be a two tone difference on the paint, that is if i ever have to take it off. I dont think i will ever take it off though.

I'm not getting any younger (67) and I've put a lot of my own blood, sweat and tears into what I consider some sweet mods. I've driven the car 8k mi. in the last 2 years! It's pristine and any rash would keep me awake at night but what do I do - go out to the garage and wax it every now and then? It's now putting out 425.2 hp on the last dyno - no world beater but I'm not going for the 427 or forged innards in my 350 - I have 2 loves other than my wife, cars and firearms - all my life. If I don't start smelling some gun powder and burnt rubber soon I doubt that the hearse will do a burn out (might just put that in my will). It's a bitch being a type A perfectionist and still be able to enjoy the things you've worked your a-s off for. Bet there are others who understand.

I know exactly what your saying. I m the same way... Maybe the army turned me like this with the dress right dress, always perfect shine, and then clean that you can eat off. I bought my 02 for a daily driver but cant seem to drive it because I bought want it to get too dirty. I found one that only has 7600 miles on it. Now has 8200, and had it for 3 months. But I'm eventually going to just drive it and enjoy it. You should do the same.

I have the 3M clear bra on my DD and also have it on my '03 C5. If the shop does it right, it will look just fine and really protect the front end of the car. I also had it done all along the rocker panels on the C5 - to keep the chips in that area down.

I also had it done all along the rocker panels and lower sections of the doors - to keep the chips in that area down. Clear bar installed 3/08appears to working fine, have driven 18K with no chips.

3M clear bra is the way to go As others have said, do your homework and have a qualified installer do the work.
