A co-worker of mine who knows ZERO about corvettes managed to buy one without the help of any of his fellow co-workers of which about six of us own vettes. Well here in Virginia we are in the middle of one of the worst rain storms in a few years and he drove the new vette 2 days in a row to leave it to qiver like a puppy in the freezing parking lot for 12 hours. When I got off it was covered with leaves and rain, it was begging for me to take it home and park it next mine nice and cozy in the garage next to my C5 coupe. I know it's just a car but to go from the good life to a new owner that doesnt own a garage or a car cover.
Dude, your freaking out... Its just a car they were designed to be used, not to sit in a garage for years and years. I try to drive mine as often as possible only thing i wont drive in is the snow because getting all the salt off the underside is a pain in the butt
PS they don't melt in the snow or rain.Who cares it was meant to be driven and not to be a ghey garage queen, it's no Ferrari their chief. While both cars resale go down he is enjoying miles of smiles.

Some folks use their Vette as their daily driver and have no choice but to take it out, rain or shine. Some love driving their Vette so much, they don't mind letting it get wet just to be able to drive it. It won't melt away and it can always be washed to make it look perfect again. I agree with you, I don't "like" to drive it in the rain, but sometimes it's just necessary and a quick hose down after work and it's nice and shiny again. Indy

So, he likes to drive HIS car. I drive mine in the rain as well.
+1 I love the Corvette but my car is an everyday driver and no I don't have a garage either. It kills me when people talk like that. It's not a Ferrari or Lamborghini or anything where the value of the car sticks. It's water, the same thing that you use to wash your car. It's leaves, they can be wiped off! If you wanna buy a car just to sit in a garage buy a 1/18th scale from Exoticars and build yourself a garage for it out of legos.

My motorcycle generally looks like that this time year, the Vette most certainly will as well as the Vette and motorcycle are daily drivers depending on my mood...

Me too!! Sometimes I will leave it if it is already raining heavy,,,with no end in sight!! I met a guy that uses his ZR1 as a daily driver,,,a REAL vet guy to me!!!
My current vette is pretty much a garage queen, but, I don't freak if it gets rained on either. Ultimately, they are just cars. They get dirty and can be cleaned up. I am not going to lose sleep over the car getting wet or dirty.
