Default Bought another C6

I just bought another C6 to give them another try. It's a silver 05 Z-51 1SB with comp grey wheels, b&b bullets, and Avic D3. It only has 10k miles, and is alot of fun to drive, but I still don't think I can give up my Z...

Are you going to trade off for the C6 or own both cars? 2005 C6 cars had quite a few first year issues. If the bugs are worked out and the mods are done well, its probably going to make your decision harder. Personally Id keep the Z.

True, I already lost a motor in a C6 with only 5k miles. This one is past the VIN range for crank bolt issue. I will only keep one car, and I'm leaning towards my Z. I guess I may just be a little bored with it though.

I guess Im a little biased. There are so few times in a week that I see more than one other C5Z on the road and I see so many C6s. Thats probably why Im so glad Im driving a somewhat rare ride. Im sorry you seem bored with the Z. The only time that I see a slew of C5Zs are at car events such as Funfest and at Bowling Green. But at the end of the day, its up to you.

I agree with you. Both cars are in my garage, and I study them trying to convince myself one way or the other. Now my Z has over 10k in mods, so it's hard to give it up.

Youre a tough guy to please if your Z has 10K in mods. You ought to be grinnin and skinnin everyday. Not only that you probably dont see Zs as often. Keep the Z!!

thx

Congrats on your purchase...I test drove a LS3 a while ago with the 6 speed paddle shift...those are damn fast. Never tested a LS2...how is their speed compared to a Z? Indy

You are correct, more raw with the Z. Feels more like a muscle car to me. The C6 Z-51 is wonderful ride, great acceleration, and very comfortable. I did not notice the typical LS motor tick with it. I just prefer the look and feel of the C5 FRC. The shifting is great, but typical notchy 2nd gear shift. The clutch releases quite high.

I think most will say the C6 LS2, and the 02-04 LS6 are very close in power and performance. Stock vs stock, I would agree.

Greetings Bartsky !

Keep that Z ! I had an '03 coupe, I sold the car & purchased a C6Z06 & passed a very low mike C5 Z06 to buy the new car I have. I must say, with the economy what it is some days I wish I would've purchased the C5 Z, I could have paid cash for what I sold my super low mile coupe for. I love the new Z06..It is a very, very nice car, at some point if I'm fortunate enough, I'll add a low mile C5 Z as well. I still love that hard top look !

IMO, C6Z or no C6 at all...

The C5Z has such a raw feel to it... I'd never trade my C5Z for a C6 Coupe.

What he said. The C5Z is such a great car in such ways as raw power, unique looks, and that most of the time the C5Z is the only Z on the road. For me , its the C5Z. In better times C6Z, no C6.

I did it the other way. Sold my 05C6 for a 2001 Z. Even with the 385 HP vs the 405HP believe me...the Z is quicker.

I bought a 05 Z51 C6 brand new. I sold it for a 03 ZO6. I had a lot of problems with my 05. None of them were major but still a PITA.
