Default Halos!!! The Clear Choice...

I'm sure this isn't everyone's cup of Tea, and honestly I wasn't too sure about it either after I first installed the cleared Halos and third brake light. But after just looking at em in the dark and trying to get good pics of em, I like em ALOT better!!! The Halo ring itself looks slightly more diffused at dusk and dawn or when it isn't that dark out yet but they look just fine when it's dark.

The brake and turn signal area is brighter then with the original Halo lenses... I tried taking a pic of em but forget it! At least not by myslef, I would need someone in the car so I could play with the aperture and exposure settings.... Anyway, installed pics;

Just Parking lights, first few were taken when it was still pretty light out;

4 Ways;

Brakes;

This wasn't the easist of things to do, removing the original lenses wasn't too bad, a heat gun helped ALOT! Then I had to hand trim each clear lense with a Dremel to fit the Halo housings then glue/seal the lenses on. I'd have to say it's different and I believe I can say I'm the only person sporting these!

I like it when the lights are on, but when they are off... the white and silver just clash.

Default YOU are the Kahuna, T!

I think it looks freakin' awesome bradda!!

In the pictures it looks like you definitely get the full color of the red LED's and Halos with out the red plastic lens'.
Did you have to do anything extra to the center brake light?
Did you do the rear side markers at the same time too?

I love it! Well Done.
I'm trying to think if there's anything I can bribe you with to be #2 in the universe with this mod...?

*edit*
...I'm serious. These would look sick on mine. email sent!! ok, I'll be patient now...

I appreciate the comments good and otherwise! It is in your face during the day, no doubt! My Vette is Pewter and it (the Pewter) turned out looking dark due to the low light, they actually look better against my White Outback XT don't they?? I would think they would look fine on Silver and White...

Tim

Thanx! I think they would look better on your Vette to be honest...

I did the side markers a few weeks ago when I installed my clear front corners and installed the clear third brake when I did the clear Halos. That was the hardest part! I mucked my hand up so that didn't help either!

I'm going to run em for awhile and see if I warm up to em. I wasn't sure about Pewter when I first got this Vette but now I love it! So we'll see... If I decide I can't stomach em maybe we can trade?

Tim

Hey Tim, it's under UserCP (top of the page, left)

I've got the same lenses, but not with holo's, just some real bright LED's that a guy the the C6 sections sells. I've also got a spare pair of the clear lenses I might make some of those halos. I've also got clear 3rd brake light and clear side markers with red LED's.

My car is mag red so it really stands out. Something you either like or hate.

Hey Larry! Yeah I found it but it didn't seem to let me change it??? I'll try again.

You have to trim about 1/16" off the inside of the inner ring on the clear lenses so they fit the Halo housings. I used a Dremel and it was a PITA! After I got done,I saw my Table Router in the corner laughing at me... LOL I think it would've been MUCH easier with it and a flush trim bit.

The Halos are definitely worth the swap, they are just plain cool!

Tim

EDIT: Well I'll be damned! It worked that time!!! Maybe when the Mustang guys hacked our servers they rattled things loose!

I had to do a lot of trimming with my dremmel just to get them to fit the stock tail light housing.

I like the halos, just not wild about the clear ones. I will say they do give a very unique look.
