CKP Relearn Procedure

When is it necessary to perform the "CKP System Variation Relearn Procedure" (crankshaft position sensor relearn)? I had crispy wires from the exhaust manifold going to the crankshaft position sensor and I eventually replaced the wires when they cracked and the car would not start. I soldered in new wires but did NOT replace the sensor. Car started right up but I am getting a misfire error P0301. I checked and rechecked cylinder #1 for spark, fuel, compression and all looks fine so I think I might need to do the CKP Relearn. Any advice?

P.S. - Can HPTuners put car into CKP Relearn or do I need a Tech2?

Relearn

Had same trouble after changing my pcm. Tuner tried using his software..wouldn.t hold. He had a TECH 2 and it was fine..Good to this day a year later.

Anyone else had to do a CKP Relearn? If so, what caused it & were you able to use HPTuners to put it into "Relearn" or did you have to use a Tech2?
