cut-out airbox with a oil gauzed filter for the $$--any others are who knows other than a trip to a dyno and some wont tell $hit unless the car is moving 100 mph-

There is a reason they are popular, THEY WORK.. and it is a true CAI intake, intake air is not exposed to the heat soak of the engine bay.

They did have some quality problems, but seem to have addressed them. Its just plastic and rubber pieces etcc.. but for what it is and the design works and has had proven results time and time again here on the forum.

I had a few other intakes on my car, and the vararam was/is the best.

I am a bit partial to my Vortex Rammer (breathless). Of course the price was great since it was aleady on the '03 when I bought it. Nice bail-out, huh ??

attaching the maf to the TB and running filterless with no hood will probably give you more power than any intake on the market. on a more serious note, i beleive the vararam has proven to give the most power increase.

my varam made 16 hp on the dyno, over the oem.

took the nose off the car, it's only fasteners.

i removed oem airbox with its 2" sq open area.

varam connected in 3 hours total.

By best if you mean performance, than Vararam hands down.

I gained 3 mph in the 1/4 mile and dropped 3/10ths as promised.

For the best performance increase, I'd have to say the Vararam is the one. However, I have no complaints about my Blackwing - easy install and looks good under the hood.

Yeah -- I got the Callaway Honker the same way -- looks great, fits perfectly, CARB approved, works well, and essentially free (for me). I would recommend it but hard to top the Vararam price if ya gotta actually pay for it...
