I have a 2001 Z with Borla stingers. How much HP will I gain from just a tune? Is it worth it? I don't want to get into cam or other engine work but do want to pick up a few extra ponies.
How much horsepower you gain depends on how aggressive you want to get with the tune. I would think you probably could gain atleast 20hp to the wheels without going crazy with the timing.
in my opinion, you should get a vararam and some long tubes before a tune so you can actually get the most out of it... but if you must do it now, go ahead

Can anyone suggest a good shop in PA?
Thanks.
FWIW -
I have a 2002 Z06 with Corsa Extreme Catbacks and a K&N CAI. I had England Green dyno tune the car- Before the tune I had 368 RWHP and after the tune 374 RWHP.
Bear in mind- I do NOT have LT headers. My guess is that my homemade K&N CAI was good for maybe 10 RWHP. Guessing that LT Headers may have gotten me up to 385-390 RWHP.
I agree that with only exhaust you won't get your money's worth from a $400 dyno-tune. Keep in mind that by adding the Stingers you've improved exhaust flow, however without a CAI the car is still "breathing through a straw", so without more air going into the engine you can't fully take advantage of more air going out the exhaust. And even if you add CAI you still have the stock exhaust manifold and cats restricting air flow.
If you add a CAI, LT headers and hi-perf cats, then you have something to work with and at that point the car will need to be tuned.
For work in PA I highly suggest Phoenix Performance in Phoenixville. Good folks who do great work! Call Joe at 610-639-4960. They're a forum vendor.
