What's up with these heads? I inquired at a dealership today and the reply I got back was a quote of $3300+ .

You can find low mileage ones for much cheaper than that. Don't waste your money at those stealerships. I think one of the forum members sells low mileage ones.

dealership prices are almost always at least twice what an identical piece would be from an individual. A used version is usually 1/3 to 1/4 what a stealership would charge.

Yep. I used to work for a GM stealership. EVERY part was at least 100% marked up over cost. NEVER go through them unless they're a last resort.

You may want to look at Texas Speed. They've got stage 2.5 ported LS6 heads for a little over $1,400: http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp...d=134&catid=40

That's what I'd do if I were you. If you're on stock LS1 (241 casting) heads, the upgrade is worth it.
