Driving home from Dallas last night around 9 pm... Had a few "spirited" runs on the frwy... Was just approaching a small city when i smelt burning rubber and my steering wheel was vibrating/shaking...
Pulled off to an exxon superstation ( open 24hrs).. this is what i saw...
Left it there over night... Just happened to be running my 19/20 in combo... Went to Discount tire found a used one to replace this one to cripple me home... Will be reinstalling the alcoa's.... don't have $1700.00 to replace all 4 on the chrome wheels...
May be...? I was actually in downtown Dallas last night (Sambuka's) on Mckinney St... I drove my car on the Trolley rails to Hall st... "You know where i am speaking of"...
Darting in/out of traffic.... Going to be throwing the Alcoa's back on for winter anyways..
No worries, or damage, other than the tire/ pocket book...

Glad youre okay. It looks like you might have run into somekind of "rut" in the surface of the road. If your roads are anyway like the ones here in Illinois that was probably it. Rough road surface helped rip the hole in the inner sidewall. We have a lot of that up here. ( And why did you leave it overnight? No AAA?)
More than likely you caught the sidewall on a edge of a nut or connector on the trolley car rails somewhere and slightly punctured it and it eventually blew. Wouldn't be the first time thats happened.
Hell it's an excuse to get a new set of tires... Going with Nitto's... they have a new tire out.. Neo Gen ZR for the rears.. 555R Extremes for the fronts. My car is actually lowered and i do not trust "AAA" to tow my vehicle... Call me ****... But it's a Z06...
