Good question. When I had my engine re-build, I asked the guys about changing out rear diff, and tranny oil to RP, they just charged me for the fluids, no labor. So I'd be interested in knowing what it might cost.

Kinda high, but, it is what it is.

Just be sure that they "flush" your clutch and not just take the fluid out of the reseviour and replace it with new. You can do that with a baster and a bottle of DOT 3

Good Luck

Sorry thought you meant clutch fluid only.

Well you'll need the additive (GM Performance 1052358 Limited Slip Lubricant Additive) which is about $15 per bottle. (4 fl oz per bottle)

On the C5 I've been letting H&H Corvettes do that work. And so far all I've needed has been oil changes and a belt change (age). But they are very reasonable for their customers.

Yeah you can change the clutch fluid yourself to save a couple bucks and it's really easy to do with a turkey baster or a syringe if you're patient.

I'm in the market for tranny and rear-end fluid changes, which I believe will be in the ball park of $85-$115 bucks. So you're in the same area.

Are you buying your own oils too? That'll run you about another $100.

$130. Is a very good price!. IThat price is not Outragous for having the trans, rear & clutch fluids changed out. The syn fluids that most use in these cars are quite expensive as it is. Now throw in the price of labor for the change out. It does't take long to eat up the bucks. I do all my own labor. I use Red line H/D Syn in the trans & rear and use Prestone Dot4 Syn in the clutch. Good luck.

I just purchased 4 quarts of synchro mesh trans fluid, a bottle of clutch fluid, bottle of brake fluid, oil filter. 98 bucks from the dealer.

At America's Service Station they wanted $165 just for the rear diff! Plus ANOTHER $145 for the transmission fluid. I just turned around and walked out. That's ridiculous.

If that price includes the fluids, then it is a very good price.

When my 2003 hit the five year mark, I had it to my best chevy dealership anywhere. The Mechanic changed & flushed and Coolant and Engine oil and filter ( I suppplied the oil) Drained and flushed the entire brake system, changed the differential oil, new Air filter. I think it came to $475.00 so I would say $130.00 isn't too bad. I asked to have my A4 fluid and filter changed, but he said with only 13K on the car is is a waste of money to changed the trans oil. Told me to wait til I hit 60K mile mark. Great Master GM technician !

I'd say $130 is not a bad price at all, especially if all the fluids are included.

Hmm, if the fluids were included, did you ask what ones you were going to be getting? The price is sounding more like it might be too good to be true imo. It should take them about an hour to an hour and a half to do the labor. Most shops I've seen charge $80-$90/hr. That means you're getting the oil for $30-$15 dollars when it costs most of us $100.

Look into exactly what they're doing and what they're replacing the oil with. I imagine you'll need a new gasket for the rear dif or am I wrong in assuming this? (never done it yet).

A lot of shops don't make a whole lot on fluid changes and buy the oil etc. in bulk, its the problems they find when your car in there is where the money is made.

This guy seems all right, I was talking to him about headers, X pipe and cat back install and he said the most it would be for the whole job would be 240, then told me if I could wait for Carlisle that many vendors run specials where they will install free of charge with the purchase of their product.
