I did a search and found out you "could" run 275/40/17's on the front of a 2002 z06.
But when I call Tire rack and Bf goodrich they say you "can't". Can anyone give me a difintive answer please.
I run 275 / 35 / 18 on the fronts with no issues. Use Tireracks on-line tire calculator. It will show you the different tire heights when you plug in the different sizes.

You can run 275/40x17 on the front of ANY C5, when using the 17x9.5 Z06 wheel
then you can mount a 275-40-17 tire on the front rim but you may experience some AH/TC issues due to the diameter of the new front size vs the old rear size. The OEM tire sizes had diameters of 25.3 front and 26.1 rear. The new front size has a diameter of 25.7.
The recommended delta in tire diameters is that the rears be at least 1/2 inch taller than the fronts to avoid AH/TC problems. This new setup is less than 1/2 and if the rears are worn may be closer to the size than the math above shows. I know there will be someone post here and say they run the same size tires front and rear . Some cars can get away with it but most others cannot. Your money. Buy the taller size if you want but be prepared to turn off AH/TC every time you start the car if you do.
I'm gonna put on four new tires, I want to go with BFG KDW2 but they only come in 255 & 275/40/17's I can get the rears in 295/35/18. Should I go with say a 305/30-35/18 to make the difference you talk about? Will this throw off my speedo? Basically what is the best tire sizes to go with if I can only get a 275/40/17 Front tire?
Thanks for your help. And thank you to everyone else for there input.

I have 275/40x17 with Z06 wheels on the front of my 03 convertible. No issues with traction control at all.
Many people have run those sizes on C5's. You guys are way over thinking this whole thing here.
You will NOT have Active Handling problems by going from a 265/40 to a 275/40, believe me.
The KDW's in 275/40x17 and 295/35x18 are a perfect pairing for any C5 with 9.5 and 10.5" wheels.
Not to be rude, because I really appreciate your help. But on what authority do you say this? Do you work in the field? I ask because both
Tire rack and BFG say I cannot run this combo on my C5 Z. Again not being rude here.
Thanks 8vette7, this stinks,I really want the BFG's.
Out of curiosity, has anyone ran the BFG kdw2 in 275/40/17 and 295/35/18 combo on there C5 Z06?

Not BFGs but those are the same size Kumho Ecsta MX I run on my 03 convertible using stock Z06 wheels. No issues at all with traction control.

Thanks bud,your car looks sweet.
I just wanna make sure these will work with no rubbing, no fault codes or any other problems. If I get the BFG's... it's not like I can try the
275's and if they don't work go back to the 265's. They don't make them lol.

Can't give you a guarantee but I've never had an issue with TC or rubbing.
Some people have had problems but normally it happens when they run the same size front and rear or screw up and actually wind up with a shorter tire in the rear.
