Paging BLISS
Hey .. I looked up P1431 last night. It's the right-hand fuel sensor. There are a number of ways this can get set, but it all has to do with the computer thinking there was not enough variation in the right tank level over a period of time. When the code was set, your gas gauge should have gone to 0 and your 'check gauages' light illuminated. The fact that it's stored as a history code suggests that it was a one-time deal. It will clear itself after 40 starts if it doesn't re-appear. I'm sure you'd be safe in just clearing it yourself.. since if it happens again, it should be obvious.

Yes - thanks Jerry .. I manually cleared it ... I can tell it was a history code, but, as far as I remember, already cleared it 2 or 3 times - this past 2 months or so ... so it must be time for new RIGHT sending unit, they supposedly did my left one, when they did the rings on the car, back in October '01 :mad
