Default Gm bra

I just purchased a GM BRA for my 2000FRC. Once I started searching through the forum I noticed (2) part numbers for it. The one I got is GM#19202113. I seen on the forum that there is a part number for a GM BRA, GM#12495616. My "instructions" have Part number GM#12368760 on them. Anyone know what the difference is between the two of them let alone the part number on the instruction sheet? Also there are three snap studs at each fender well. I have what seems to be an extra one at the top but the instructions do not have any mention for it. I used two snaps at each fender well like the instructions said. Have I installed incorrectly? It otherwise fits perfectly.

One is for base model with fog lights and the other for Z06. The base has clear plastic covering the opening while Z06 has a portion of the opening covered with mesh and the other part open (the foglites are replaced with functional air intake ducts and the design of the bra allows for unobstructed air flow. You cannot use base bra on Z06 but you can use Z06 bra on the base. Z06 has been long discountinued so consider yourself lucky if this is what you got. The Z06 version of the bra looks better IMO.

There are three snaps on the cover - the lower two go into the snaps you install in place of the factory screws. The upper snap folds back onto the tab and once you bend the tab, it creates an L-shaped piece that just hooks under the fender liner at the top (may not be a great explanation but best I can do). So, you will only have two self tapping screws on each side. I think if you really look closely at the upper snap you will see how it goes together and then how it hooks at the top of the wheel well.

Hi,
I have the #12495616 also, that came with the car still in the box/never used. I want to put in on to see how it looks but the last one i put on a Firebird of mine, it rubbed the paint off the corners. Should i be worried about this happening? How did yours turn out and how hard was the install?
Oh, also does the plastic/clear covering effect in anyway, the air flow?
I mean, obviously it does, but just making sure it wont hurt nothing? Surely GM would not make it like that if it would, right???
Thanks so much!

One bra is for Z06 with screened openings for front brake ducts and the other for regular C5 with fog lights and dummy vents. You can use Z06 bra on regular body but you should not use the bra with plastic fillers on Z06. The installation is exactly the same on both.

Mine fits like a glove and is tight w/o any wrinkles. No problems with air flow that I am aware of. I have not noticed any problems with the paint being damaged. If you sell it I don't see why you couldn't get $70.00 for it. Just my.02

Default be careful installing your new bra in the winter

I love my GM bra because it fits so good. It is padded very well to avoid damage, and it is reasonably priced. But as everyone knows, when the weather is very cold naugahyde can be difficult to work with. While installing my bra prior to a long trip one cold morning, I felt and heard every zeus fastener snap into place. HOWEVER, after driving all day I discovered that one fastener had popped loose. The constant battering against the nearby paint for hundreds of miles left a permanent mark. I tend to think that if I had carefully warmed up the bra in the motel stove before installing it then such an event would not have happened.
