Go to www.vettemods.com They offer a bundle with the mounting bracket and "Invisicord" hook up for the mirror. There's also a link for the installation instructions.
Could you take a picture of your wiring harness and post it up here so we know what you're looking at? I finally broke down and hardwired my V1 a few weeks ago. I also spliced in a rocker switch to be able to kill the power to it in an inconspicuous manner just in case... Here's the link to my thread. (The fifth pic shows my harness)
do you have an auto dim mirror? I assume you do.
There are 2 wires you need to tap into, one resets every time you open the doors or unlock the car one is acc power so get the right orange wire, then ground with the black easy.
If not and its the regular mirror without auto dim it'll have to stay on all the time which is no big deal I did that too in my old vette.
I believe this info is true above
and yes go to vette mods and get their bracket and invisicord for it. perfect and cheap and youll be set to go
Total cost for Great Lakes mount & inviscord? around $35.

* Not necessary to permanetely change anything on your Vette. Return to completley stock anytime in about 30 seconds.
Thanks for all the replies. I should have been more specific when I asked my question. I had the invisicord along with the mirror mount. I'm looking for a new hardwire location because I think the the strength of the sun's rays here in Sin City caused the insulation on the wires to loosen over time (app 3 yrs). Unbeknown to me, the actual wires that were covered by the insulation were becoming exposed. As I was taking a trip to Denver this summer the road vibration caused the wires from the invisicor to come in contact with each other and fried my V1. Valentione repaired it (at no cost) so now I'm looking for an alternate source of power, other than the cord from the V1 to the lighter. All suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.
