I thinks its ghetto when any stickers are put on a corvette. Its a classy car and when people start slapping stickers on it to advertise some product it distracts from it. I think the stupidest one is the Corvette racing skull "Jake" emblem people like to stick on it.
Freedom of expression. Mine says it all:" Corvette Racing" I am the other dude in the GoergeZ post. Now I must admit that I would not just put anything my windshied. Letters are script and subtle 2 tone blue and red that is intended to compliment the C5R theme. So here it is: not cool to put on junk that will lessen the presence of a Corvette, however cool to compliment it. JMO
Its your car, only you can make a descision, that makes YOU happy.. I've seen some really bizzare things done to these cars... From giant spoilers to pink paint jobs to black or red wheels yada yada yada.. The list goes on.. Whats cool to you might look like crap or just plain silly to someone else...
However you did ask for opinions, personally I don't like them.
If they say "Chevy", "Corvette", or anything that should be obvious like "black Car", I find unnecessary.
If it is a tuner/shop name, or contains info not obvious to the average enthusiast, I am less opposed as long as it is subdued and not "in your face". JMHO
I personally think they look cool, have been considering getting one for my 02Z. Gives the car a bit more of a race car look, nothing wrong with that.
and there you have it. You want a classy looking car, buy a Caddy/Benz/Jag etc. A Z06 Corvette is a world class race car, not a world class luxury car.

A C5 Zo6 as delivered is a road car.
If you want a "race car" it would be far from what is bought off a showroom floor.
It comes down to a question of class (or lack of).
If you had a Ferrari, would you but a banner on the windshield that said "FERRARI"?
I think not.
I've often seen this analogy, and personally, I don't agree with it. I've also heard you shouldn't put chrome wheels on a Corvette because you never see a Ferrari with chrome wheels. At the end of the day, I own a Corvette, not a Ferrari. They are two different cars, and I am quite happy to own a Corvette over a Ferrari. I'm not aspiring to make my Corvette into a wannabe Ferrari. So really, I couldn't care less whether you see chrome wheels or windshield banners on Ferraris. On a Corvette, I feel that both of those items look great. Of course, that's just my opinion, and everyone is entitled to theirs.

Yeah, plus the stickers get in the way when you wax it!
