Default Body-Paint Question

I have a 1999 droptop and I noticed that when the top is down there is a rub area where the top normally sits on the weatherstrip. I do not have a good photo but it is behind the passenger seat. I have noticed this on several other convertables and not on others. Question is my top bent? Is the cowling piece warped? Before I have the cowling repainted I want to fix the problem. Any suggestions?

I see it on lots of cars. Mine has a couple spots along that protector strip that the top has worn the paint as well. I'm not going to worry about it because it seems like it's the norm. At least GM tried to help us out, they just placed the protector strip a little too far forward.
