Default One CRAZY Dyno Session!

I just had an expeirience I had to share!!! I had my Vette Dynoed at a relatively new shop in my area GodSpeed, http://www.teamgodspeed.com/

He uses a Land and Sea Dyno which I'm unfamiliar with... Anyway we got it strapped down;

[IMG]

The work station;

So we get the car settled in and tightened up and Bart told me to get inside and start it up and get the tires rolling in first gear. Odd, well I figured he just wanted to center the car on the rollers... NOPE, he wants ME to drive it while Dynoing!!! I'm like;

Dynos always made me nervous but this is just freaking me out! He took a few more, here I'm at 2k in 4th;

Popping the rev limiter;

He said I clinched my jaws like the above pic EVERY time! It was pretty darn spooky and cool at the same time. Several times he had to cinch up the straps as the car would start bucking and jumping around. The first run I wasn't expecting the ABS and Traction Control to go off and that freaked me out too!

Here are a few fun shots;

Bart Grande, the owner is just an awesome guy! We had a blast and I learned he has been on Monster Garage several times as well as a NASCAR mechanic and other cool stuff! If you want Dynoed, make the trip to his facality in State College, PA. You will NOT be disappointed!

Yeah, I dynoed one of my cars once and it's pretty scary! Feels like the car is going to break off the straps and fly off!! What kind of numbers did it make?

So when you blow the engine, its on you not him..

I am 100% in complete disagreement with this on so many fronts.

Dynoing the car should be done by a "trained professional", NOT the owner or anyone who can take it up to specified rpms..

Just my opinion....

Hmmm Good point, no insurance overhead either. He charges a flat $60 an hour for anything. I also assisted in the installation of several parts on the car.

He was having a problem with the Dyno, he thought it was noise. The wideband dropped out at 4.2k on everyrun.

Anyway I wasn't after numbers just showing a gain or not, those were baseline pulls in the pics . Later that day I pulled 345.4 RWHP and 355.7 RWTQ STD, a solid 8 to 10 HP and TQ gain across the board, Pretty good gains...

In fact a large part of the day was doing stuff just for that lovely place!

Hotchkis Sways (painted Red) and a 3/8" Tunnel Plate.... For starters!

Hey, how do I go about trying to get a Corvette Fun Day organized?? I have a few friends serisouly interested in heading there next Spring/Summer to run and if it's possible I can post something up in the North East Forum to get a feel for how many would attend....
