I have a 2000 C5 and have noticed that the TPS' for the 97-00 C5's are nearly dpouble the price of those for the 01-04 C5's. So there must be an obvious difference but does anyone know what it is and what else would you have to change so you can you use the later (cheaper) ones on an earlier C5?

You would have to change out all of the sensors, the receiver and the key FOBs for that to work. I have heard that Costco sells the old sensors or you can contact Corvette Don and let him rebuild them for you.
Good luck.

Here's two threads about the conversion process and costs:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...e-sensors.html

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...aded-tpms.html

Decide for yourself if the conversion is cost effective.

I have a 2000 and bought a TPM from Tire Rack last month, around $70 and works fine.

That's a great find for that price.
