help!!! hid kit draining battery???
about 3 months ago I bought the 8000 hid kit for my 02 Z06, about a few days I installed them my car wouldnt turn on, my battery was dead, so I just went to auto zone and bought a new battery, I had no problem starting my car for the nex 2 months or so until this sunday, my car did turn on but u can hear it hesitated, kinda sounded like the battery was drained, this morning my car didnt turn on at all, my car was dead, before installing this kit I had no battery problem, I messaged the guy I bought the kit from and he said that there is no possible way that the hid light should be draining the battery, but its draining mine, has anybody had this problem before or do u know anyone that had this problem, any info will help, thanx in advance

I would say that a quick way to test if it's the lights (which I find very unlikley) would be to use a volt meter on the battery with the car off and get a reading...then...pull the relays for the lights (I think there are two of them) in the battery compartment fuse box. Then check the battery again. If the lights were drawing power with the car off then you should get a higher volt reading with the relays removed vs. the relays installed. Their should be no draw form the battery from the lights if the relays are removed afaik? Also...make sure that you hear a click when you turn on/off the lights with the engine off (open your hood to hear it better) that click is the relays. As long as you hear them make a click they are functioning correctly....again...afaik.
Just a thought and would take about 60 seconds to try.
