Default Borla Stinger vs. Corsa Pace Car ?

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie here. I own a stock C5 Vette yearmodel 2000.

I think that the title of this thread may have been dicussed here for numerous times but I can't help asking it one more time. According to youtube videos, the Borla Stingers and the Corsa Pace Cars are the main catbacks that the C5 owners seem to prefer.

Which catback of those two do you prefer in order to get the best possible engine sound and few extra Hp ? I have spent many hours in youtube just to listen to both of them. It's quite a difficult for me to choose between those two but somehow Borla sounds a bit like Lamborghini or something?

Love my Borlas and would buy them again. In fact a friend of mine had Corsa and changed them to Borlas after hearing mine. To each his own though. Best thing to do is try to find people in your area that have each and listen for yourself. Sound bites on the computer do no justice. Good luck to you.

Get the best of both - consider the Corsa Extreme system.

Get a look at one- it is effectively straight thru , yet no noticeable drone.

I like mine.

If you're going to keep it stock (or no headers at least) definitely go for the Corsa Extremes. You will love them.

If you plan on modding, read what PeterPan says above then choose what you like and get that system. For me, I didn't want drone at low rpm's so I got Corsa. I like the way Borlas sound outside the car at the low rpms but do not like the way they drone within. That was my opinion.

I've heard Corsa Extremes and I love them. Nice low rumble like the Corsas at idle and am told still no drone. Corsa rep told me he thought they'd be too loud with headers though and that's what I have. In fact he suggested the touring catback but I got Pace Cars and am very happy with them.

Default This is difficult

Corvettes are not very usual sight over here where I live. So unfortunately there is no possibility to hear them live. So I have to make my decission based on the experience from the people who have them.

Two main things are clear however. Corsas without the X-pipe or without the headers are said to make that annoying motorboat putput sound at idle. And Borla Stingers are said to drone at idle.

Yes I'm going to install the headers also. It's going to be the Dynatechs or the Kooks. With the high flow cats and a X-pipe. Another difficult question which one to choose over the other.

Borla Stingers all the way. I have LT headers, X pipe and Borla Stingers and there is no drone what so ever.

This is an excellent summary.

I had both. This is such a subjective thing...For me personally, only after 3 months of having them, the drone of the Borla's drove me nuts and outweighed the joy of the great muscle car sound they produced. I switched to Corsa Pace Cars and have never regretted it.

I've had both, and I recommend GHL.

THe difference is that the Corsa Extremes do not make any type of putt-putt sound. They're the ones you want. Only thing is I can't talk to the drone at low rpm on the Extremes but they are not supposed to and Corsa has a good track record for no drone.

Happy with my Corsa pace cars. The TigerShark tips look good too. Most importantly no drone and that was a must for me. And its still loud when you need it to be. If you ever around New Orleans you come listen to my car

Not to start a huge debate but I have Borlas and there is no drone at all at idle. None. The only drone is at 1800 rs and the second I come off 1800 at all it goes away. I have headers, x-pipe and a tune.

Same set up with Dynatechs, X pipe, and Stingers.
