Personally I'd look into

PS2's
Ultra Sessanta's
NT01/5's

The Ultrac are a great tire, one of the best I've seen for traction, THE BEST in wet weather conditions, and they last forever. Plus they have a very aggressive looking tread pattern!

I'm looking for tires right now for my Z06 as well, and I'm leaning towards the Nitto NT05's, delivered to my door for $839! My second choice was the Michelin PS2's.
This Falken tire looks good, what do they cost? I just realized, Falken doesn't have the stock Z06 sizes, they have a 294/40-18 or a 315/30-18, too bad, the tire looks good.

the sizes I was looking at were 255/40/r17 front and 315/30/18 for the rear which would maintain the .5 inch difference for the traction control.
Another forum member commented he was running the 315/30's on the stock rear wheels with NO rubbing issues. Yes you would be sacrificing some width on the fronts but I am just looking at alternatives to the more costly GY F1's and Mich PS2's which because of having to store the car for the 5 months of winter up here end up hard and loosing grip while still having a fair bit of tread left on them. The rears are in the $300 range and the fronts around $170 at the vulcan tire site.

Yeah i have them on my car now. The guy i bought the car from put them on when he had it. I have the 315/30-18 on the rear and 275/40-17 on the front. I dont like the front tires being so big. They are pretty good tires but they are getting a little thin and they are slick as glass. My car will spin at 40mph just rolling on it with a few bolt-on's. First gear is worthless at any speed and second is about the same once i get twisted. I wont get them again. Here are a few pics of them...
