Vararam Gen3 Ram Air Intake System, causing sesor codes??
I tried the search, but it's useless. I heard this system causes sensor codes to trip, is this true?

If i understand your question it will throw lean codes because you do not have a sreen in the mass air sensor ,mine did this till i bought halltech honeycomb sreen ,all code are gone and long term fuel trims are back to normal

SMaster and the rest of you guys,
Thanks for always giving the best advice and options for learning and trying different things out on these temperamental beasts. I'm old school from racing dirt late models and modifieds where we aren't allowed the luxury of computers. Or is it a luxury? Lol. But cars with computers are difficult to diagnose without all sorts of up to date knowledge and luckily I have this Forum to learn from you guys. So thank you all as this helped me with the same P0174 and P0171 codes

My experience with the Vararam is that it will throw the code for system too lean and the fuel trims will be maxed out at +20. I have a screened MAF so that may not fix your problem. I am in the process of getting an appointment with ECS so that they can install one of their canned tunes. If I can't get an appointment soon I might just remove it and go back to stock.

Melting Slicks
When the LTFT's are way out of wack, it usually, but not always, indicates a leak in the intake prior to the MAF.. Sometimes just over tightening the clamps will deform the housing and cause this--ran into this happening while helping a friend chase some troubles.

No leaks. I've done leak checks and it's not that. I am able to get it to work if I change the injector slope and power enrichment using a Trinity tuner. I don't trust this method so I want to get a tune. The system is greatly affected by the MAF location. When it's mounted close to the throttle plate the codes come up pretty quickly. When it's mounted near the air filter it takes a few days of driving before the codes get set.
