I recently purchased a 2000 Convertable. I am looking into putting a new top on. I have seen some for around $600 bucks if you install it your self. Around $1`300 at a dealer. Has anyone put one of the tops on.
From everything I have read on this Forum, replacing the Convertible Top is not a very easy DIY task and most have a professional do the job. I recently had one installed and it was $420.00 in Labor and I supplied the Top. I got a Robbins Top in Twillfast material which was used in the later C5's. The Top was $650.00 plus tax from a local wholesaler. Not a bad deal considering every installer I called quoted me around $1450 if they supplied the Top. Everything went very smooth, but latching the Top is very tight at this point. Waiting for the material to stretch a little otherwise I will be looking into why it's so hard to latch.

Top at mid america or ecklers $499.00 fit same as oem, paid a top notch auto upholstery guy who has done tops before, do not get a novice, paid $375 to him , all good still 2 years later, so the 1300 is way high .
Thanks everyone. I think I will go somewhere and have it done. There is a place about 10 miles from me that works on Vettes. I think I will stop in there and talk to them.
