Harbor Freight offers some good low profile jacks. I have a Sears aluminum racing jack that works fine too.

Griots Garage has a good rep for quality products. I have and know others who have been happy with their Omegas. The other jack noted is an unknown to me. I think Northern Tools also sells the Omegas.

WalMart sells a Black Jack that is a great jack. It is a 3 ton heavy duty commercial type floor jack (you turn the handle to lock/release it) with low clearance (3+ inches). You won't be carrying it around, but it rolls nicely. Arround $50.
