Default Goodbye Z06

Well I leave for turkey next may for a 2 year tour and I can only take one vehicle the military will pay to ship. As much as I would love to take the vette, its definitely not the practical choice between it and my Kia Spectra, especially with the price of gas in Europe. Also there would probably be a big risk of it being stolen since nice American sports cars are rare. So it looks like the Z will be on the market soon I'm thinking of getting a GSXR 600 to keep me from going through HP withdrawals. Plus, a motorcycle counts as household goods in the military's eyes so it will be shipped with my furniture

Good luck and be safe. Go bigger than a 600 too, if you are gonna do it. You will want more very quickly, so you might as well go with a liter bike from the get go. Doesn't mean you have to ride like a maniac just cause the power is there.

My parents said I can keep it at their house if I want to keep it, but I just dont see much sense in making payments on a car that I cant use for 2 years. I mean, yes in two years it would probably only have 2 or 3k more miles on it but I would just like to save a little money. My wife and I are planning on buying a house when we get back.

The 600 is a good idea for a first bike. You may want more after a while, but it's plenty of power. I just wrecked my 600 a few months ago and almost died and now I'm full of metal, which is kinda off subject so be safe out there.

I bought my gsxr 600 (which was my second bike after a ninja 250) for 6,800 or something from a dealer with 4k on it.

Oh, and I think as will cars you will always find a better deal private party.

Good luck!
