started having charging issues. tested battery, shot. tested alt. bad. change out both and now the starter just clicks. could that be bad now or is it something else. HELP!
1) Have the new battery load tested. Wouldn't be the first time a new battery was bad.
2) Are battery terminals clean and tightened to correct torque?
3) Is the cable to the starter clean and tight? These can get loose due to heat and vibration. Remember that cable is electrically hot so disconnect the Neg battery cable when in there with a wrench.
I agree. Also look at the alternator connection, the large cable on it and make sure its not lose. Look for any evidence of browned wire insulation which would indicate a possible bad crimp and so on. The charging of the battery via the alternator is controlled by the PCM. In case you don't find anything obvious right off, try pulling your codes if you can but expect to see a lot with a now low battery.
