i want to thank 8vette7, dgrant 3830, 65 ggvert, lucky 131969, and especially bill curlee 
on the info on my charging issues. go to find out it was also the solenoid to the starter. corroded, broken connectors, bad cables and a fuseable link. car starts, alt. and battery are outputting what they are supposed to. i want to thank you again for all your help and i deffinetly know where to go for vette questions. everyone have a merry xmas and a better than this year new year.
