Time to get your snow tires on and do some wheelies or donuts in the Washington Metro Area, I'm in Silver Spring and have about 20 inches of snow in my street and it is still snowing. My Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s are mud and snow rated but unless you have a bulldozer it is not recommended that you try driving on any of our roads or interstates.
The local wimps and morons have stopped all bus service and no overhead metrorail service since early this afternoon.
A snowball fight at 14th and U Streets in DC was going on in a playful manner. An unmarked hummer was pelted with snowballs and a detective emerged, pulled his gun out and threatened to arrest the people throwing snowballs. Other police also pulled their handguns. Video of this is on our local stations but watch the evening news and you may see how ridiculous the morons in DC react to a snow which in the midwest would have been a non-newsworthy event.
I am 30 min north of Balt. We are at 18" of the white stuff w 6" more on the way, for an even 2'. Looks like no Christmas Eve ride in the Vettes this year.
The amount of salt used on Maryland roads makes me cringe. Yeah, yeah, I know: it lowers the freezing temp on the road surface, blah, blah..... But the damage it does to vehicles and their undercarriages is ugly.
The 2 things I hate most in life: road salt & stone chips!!
Wishing my CF friends & their families a Blessed Christmas,
I couldn't agree more. Watching the news is pointless because all they're talking about is the damn snow! Ridiculous.
Watching the local news is a bit ridiclous here in DC. I guess the local media really believe they make a difference, that would be news. 20+" here in Chantilly, VA. We got 1/2 the driveway done late.
My son is out there in Lorton, VA.. Not sure how much he's gotten there, but I'm sure its similar. Now for all of you stuck in the muck, it was 84 out here today! Bright and clear as far as you could see.

You have a valid point! We may be able to drive year round and put lots and lots of miles on our cars, but the taxes, home prices and so on that we put up with, makes us question things every day.

Hmm,2 feet of snow or 84 but dealing with the amount of crime it seems you guys have? I think I'll take my chances of snow. I can't remember the last time I watched an episode of COPS that didn't have Ranch Cucamunga in it.
Here is a picture that my son sent to me this morning from where he's living in Lorton, VA. with the '99 that I gave him last year safely tucked away in the garage there.

Crime isn't bad here at all in this particular community. Yes, more here than other parts of the country for sure. Snow, I wish it would snow here. Actually it did for about 30 seconds, two years ago. Gone in less than 30 seconds too. Here, we hope for changes in the weather so its not so boring all the time.
