I have two nephews that are fairly new drivers and neither has had an opportunity to see or ride in the Corvette. So I took each of them out to a closed business park in a wide open space and let them each do a burn out. They enjoyed it and hopefully when they are older they too will know "the wave". Plant a seed watch it grow.
Yeah, and DON'T show them how to take off the traction control when you let them really drive it for the first time! I'm still kinda weary about turning it off, LOL! It'll at least teach them to respect power, if they manage not to wrap it around a tree!
As the uncle with the Corvette, I got the chance to take MY two nephs down the dragstrip last summer on several passes. They've been raised by their mom, without a male in the home.
They got a 150 shot of testosterone at the track that day!
It was a blast for them.....but probably more for me!

I don't turn it off much myself. They'll get another drive at some point, but I am not usually that abusive to my car so there needs to be some pampering before that happens again. Not to mention about 5000 miles removed from my tires. I still remember my first ride in a Corvette and want to instill those memories in a generation that may be the last to be around high performance machines. By the time their kids get to drive it will be government issued Smart cars for everyone.

LOL this is very sad but true. I can see the day gasoline sales will be outlawed entirely and we won't even be able to enjoy the cars we've held onto.
