Just purchased a rear clip that i want to hang on my garage wall. anyone done this? i would like to put in some 110v bulbs. any ideas?
My concern would be the heat given off melting the plastic lenses.
Perhaps some white 110v LED christmas lights would work and stay cool. You should be able to fit 2 or 3 bulbs in each lense to get the right brightness. Make sure your splices are done properly so you do not create a fire hazard.
Simple fix: go to Radio Shack, heck even Wal-Mart and pick up a wall adapter to run DC toys and electronics. Many of them are switchable and most all include a 12V setting. Just hook that baby up and you are good to go.
Just a suggestion, as mentioned in the above post (2), you might want to do the LED light thing to avoid heat.

thinking the same thing - You can buy a 110 to 12 volt reducer/transformer and keep the lights for Auto's in there it will be safer and lower cost
i had pretty much the same problem (but with an antique counter top jukebox selector unit). what i did was use a set of low power (step down transformer) lights i got at radio shack. originally power was supplied by the cable from the "master" or base unit of the jukebox, so this was a real simple solution to light it up and make it appear to be a working unit as opposed to a display piece. another alternative i would suggest would be to use a string of LED christmas lights that you can "group" into each of the tail lamp areas. they would provide plenty of illumination with a minimum (if any at all) of heat. i wouldn't think you would have to splice them at all.
