Hey all, Merry Christmas!!
So I got a neowin ipod2car adapter today, went out to install it... first test notice on the DIC that "low voltage" appears... and barely any sound from radio.
I uninstalled the ipod2car adapter, reverted to "stock" and still have the "low voltage" error...
Recently I have noticed that sometimes when starting the car my DIC gets reset (i leave it at range, and it comes up with odometer and i have to change the HUD page back to fuel)
so by tinkering around behind the radio did I push whatever electrical problem I guess I had further? or is it a wire behind the radio maybe that is shorted?
It's a 2000 C5.
The owner before me, looks like he had a few wires spliced in and around (maybe had aftermarket unit in?), it's stock speakers and bose cd unit. There is a green wire spliced with a heavier blue wire that I cannot track down, but it does not plug into anywhere after leaving the radio harness... If i leave the radio unplugged I am still getting the low voltage error. No codes thrown for H or C.
any clues as to what i should try next? the dash is still apart so I will leave it be for now, I need to track the green/blue wire down, i'll snap a pic and see if anyone can recognize it.
tia!
Cheers,
Ryan

Maybe while working on your car with the doors open and the lights on the battery got low, That happened to me while I was installing my HID lights.
Sounds like a Battery issue.

If you have a charger I would put it on the battery on low amp setting while working on the car, I haven't heard of the neowin ipod2car, I used the http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...&CategoryID=45
on mine.
on mine.
Did you try moving the number 6 dip switch on the ipod2car? It's some kind of gain and I had to switch that on mine before it had good volume I don't know about the static though.

Sorry it's a neocaraudio :
http://www.neocaraudio.com/product_i...oducts_id=5080
I will try the dip switch now...even if I disconnect the unit and revert to a stock setup, the radio is real low, no bass, and still has static..
also, checked the fuses and relay, they look good (#28 fuse #45 relay - bose)

Ok so I managed to fix the issue!
It ended up being that green wire spliced in with a thicker blue wire came out of the harness (i guess when I pulled the HU out) it fell behind all the other wires and behind the mount, pulled it up and on the 2nd attempt found the correct spot to plug it in to, now I need buy a new crimp and re-splice it with a longer cable.
thanks for all the replies!!
cheers,
Ryan
