Too bad this wasn't a year ago..

I had a custom sub box (carpeted perfectly too) with a 10" Sony Xplode speaker installed that came with my Z.

I don't care about steroes (I listen to the engine) so I tried to give it away. It took two months before somebody finally bit and came by to pick it up. I got $20. Made out like a bandit.

Custom, Corvette and cheap generally don't go together :-)

Cheaper? Than $100? That IS cheap.

Speaking from over 15 years in car audio, if you can find a box for $100 that is made well... it's a bargain. Anything cheaper is probably made out of pressboard or purchased at a flea market.

I just had fellow member NVTHIS make a custom box for me, with cover to fit my JL Audio 10w6v2. Great product, and great person to deal with. Shoot him a PM for pricing. Tell him Phil sent you.

Thanks for the recommendation, Phil! If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to inquire. As with all things, before you buy, do your own research. Finding a sub box under $100 made of quality materials will be hard to find. Check out www.doubledmods.com and look at the sub boxes out there. Those are the ones I build.

I bought mine here:
http://www.subthump.com/vettec5.htm
It was delivered in a few days.
Bought an alpine 12" sub and alpine amp at Crutchfiled.
Ordered everything on a Tuesday and had everything by that weekend.

I built one that fires down into a box that goes in the left rear compartment.
