Default Trailering A C5

I just got a beautiful 99 Vert but here is my dilemma. I’m in Afghanistan and my wife will be getting it for me next week. She will be using my car hauler trailer and I’m curious if the C5 is too low to clear the 2’ dovetail on the end of the trailer. The lowest thing I’ve used it for was a Pontiac Fiero with no problems.

Unfortunately I don’t have the trailer measurements or pics of it but it’s a standard car hauler.

Does anyone have experience with this and where are the best places on the car to chain it down?

Use wood blocks and planks to get it on the trailer.

My car has been chained down many times- have her call the local tow company and ask for advice.

She won't be able to just drive it up without the front scraping. If she has help and a few 2x10 or 2x12 boards about four feet long there will be far less hassle. Lay them on the ground in front of the ramps. Drive up on them, then the ramps.

Good luck to the wife. And thank you for serving.

Thank you for the replies. I will tell her to bring boards.

I'm afraid if I let her drive it home then she will claim it for herself.

I guess we'll just have to use our imagination!

Hurry back to the states and enjoy the new ride -- C5's are a load of fun!

Take care!

There are tie down cut outs in the frame behind the front wheels. In front of the rear wheels.
IF you have used jacking pucks, the holes you put them in are the ones I am talking about....

Buy some T hooks, insert them into the holes, rotate 90 depgrees and hook your tie down straps to the T hooks.

I always cross the tie downs... left front strap to right front frame
right front strap to left front frame
and similar in the back

Item#:3309048 Price:Only $8.99

I put a plank under the approach to each of my trailer ramps to get the front air dam to clear on the drive up the ramps

Excellent description of how I also trailer mine. The t-hooks make the process much easier.

This is the best job, providing computer support to the men and women in uniform, but the location really sucks.
