Default Headers- Best Setup

I thinking about going with either the corsa pace car or touring cat back, what would be the best LT header & x pipe combo to go with to get the most HP. What is the difference in the earlier years for the headers and is there a certain brand that's better/worst for the early C5s

I used to run Pace Cars, and they worked great with American Racing, I only got rid of my Pace Cars as I went with Stainless Works for a true 3" exhaust

I am running Dynatech headers, high flow cats and Corsa pace car exhaust. The difference from early C5s to later years is the location of the air tubes.

If you can wait a few months we have a nice setup coming out. It will be priced right too.

Interesting - I was able to partially upgrade with GHL's but I didn't get an X-Pipe or Headers. I'll look for your updates.

Sounds good. It will be the brother of the C6 system we've been selling

Great combo is the Corsa Pace Car system with Kooks LT's and their catted x-pipe. I will give you a nice rumble at idle and will wake the dead at WOT...best of all, no drone!

I can help you if you need help...

With long tubes, be prepared for the Pace cars to be LOUD. I have that setup, and no drone at freeway speeds, but they don't really sound any different than the straight pipes I was running a while back. I have no cats, and plan to add a set to quiet it up a bit, but we'll see if it works.

I've been wanting to pull the trigger on some different headers for quite awhile. I know the TPIS set I have are detracting from the potential the engine mods I already have. If the Kooks are that much better,I'll take the plunge. Thanks for the advice,Randy

You won't go wrong IF you stick to the top three....
ARH (American Racing Headers)
LG
KOOKs

I picked ARH based
on fit, finish, easy of installation, power, sound ....
I found Price was not an issue among these 3.

Go with either the brand you like best or if you are using a tuner, the one they recommend as they likely ahve the most experience installing and tuning that brand

Ill be biased here but it really won't matter which piece of bent metal you go with. If price is no object get whatever you want if your on a budget the OBX dyno 1-2hp within the top 3 big names. It's really up to you . I would like to know of any name brand LT headers around here that DON'T make hp.

Also consider the Dynatechs - they are a nice system at a decent price.

And you don't need to run their catted X-Pipe if you don't want to. Kooks sells turnouts with for their headers that can be welded right into your existing cats. HP loss is negligible at best, you will not experience any drone and you save several hundred dollars in the process. Maryland Speed had the best prices when I bought mine and I went with them...I have this setup on my car and it's fantastic...

I have a pic somewhere of the setup if you need it and I know there's a link here on the forum to another member that did the same.

I've got 1 3/4" KOOKS LT's, Hiflow Cats, and X-pipe going through the C5 Z06 Titanium exhast - 701 RWHP and 582 RWTQ!

As far as Headers go, they all seem to be real close to one another - so really it's your pick! I have watched header swaps and dyno's and there was really no difference between set-ups

Thanks,Matt
