Hi Guys, Im not having any luck finding the HUD bezel, have a huge ugly hacksawed hole ontop my dash and need to clean it up..
So would someone/anyone PLEASE measure their bezel for me so I can try and get something made.. The size of the center hole,, like 3inchs by 4 inchs and the total size of the bezel would be great,, I can maybe get our tinsmiths at work to cut the shape and have it covered with a vinyl dash type of mateirial, anything to clean up the way it looks.
and if you have an actual bezel and would like to sell it, I would love to buy it..
Don't give up yet. I see them posted on the Parts Forum from time to time. Also, have you checked with Fichtner Chevrolet? http://www.fichtnerchevrolet.com

I am tracing one for someone else tomorrow, if you would like a copy, PM me your address
Does the dash need to be removed in order to remove the bezel? I just had an idea I'm assuming it does but then I thought it might just be a pressure fit or something.

I had the whole thing apart when I installed the HUD and then put
it together without the bezel. So even making something and putting it ontop
of the hole would be ok.. if I had the actual bezel then apart it would come again,
After having it apart once it would be alot easier.
Obviously getting a parted bezel would be best in the long run.
But if you are going to make one, in addition to using the template (graciously offered above) you might want to try getting some of the heavy tin foil (like bakers stuff) and seeing if you can find someone with an HUD equipped car who will let you take an impression.
You would be surprised how good this works ;-) Nothing fancy, just lay a sheet over the opening and press it into all the contours. Carefully remove and if handled carefully it should retain a pretty accurate model of the bezel.
At least when you are fabricating the replacement you will have a 3d example to look at.
