Default did i pay too much?

Hi guys , i'm new to the forum. I quickly found out that there is a lot of good info from members. My question is, I purchased my medium purple pearl, Z51 98 coupe 2yrs ago with 20,000mi for 23,500. It has a procharger super charger with intercooler, kooks headers, corsa exhaust, yank 3600 torque converter,373 gears, line lock, and chrome wagon rims. Car put out 488 to the rear. I've since had cartek put a competition cam in and now it dyno'd at 538 to the rear, the car is very clean, but did I pay too much?

Last edited by Kerry Coleman; Dec 30, 2009 at 11:38 AM. Reason: correction, car was puuting out 488 to the rear when purchased.

What do you think, a stock 98 with 20,000 miles on it will go for 16-20 grand, supercharger, etc. I say you did well

Enjoy the car. These are depreciating assets - over time, we've all paid too much...

I think you did fine. Looks like you got a low mileage S/C car with extras for a pretty good price.

You got yourself a rare color. Only 381 units produced in that color. In 2 years ago money you did well but as the others said all vehicles are depreciating rapidly. Use it and enjoy it.

What difference does it make now? You've got it so enjoy it and don't worry about it.

RARE (and nice color) good miles, nice mods... considering the current prices which are still going for more than KBB...

I think you did just fine, especially two years ago before the bubble popped.

What difference would anyones opinion make here-you ALREADY BOUGHT IT. What if you did pay too much-you can't bring it back. What's the purpose of this thread anyway?

You're not going to go out and shoot yourself if we say you did, are you?

From the sound of it, you have a really nice car. Why worry about it? It's too late anyway....

Not hostile-it's a dumb question. Like the horse has already left the barn.

Enjoy your car. In the scheme of life, a few thousand $$$s here or there won't matter one bit.

Two years ago the market was different than today. A little too late to worry about it now anyway since you bought the car. I'd say with the low mileage and the mods that were on the car, you did good. Enjoy the ride.

Overall,,not bad!! For a 98 yeah you probably paid too much,,but add in the extras,,and you could not duplicate it for that price. Say 16 to 18 grand for a clean car,,having a S/C installed alone is going to push towards the price!!Add the gears headers, exhaust and converter,,and you are past the price you paid!! RELAX and enjoy!!!
